Event description During the current pandemic, health and social care professionals will be required to make many difficult decisions. Reduced staff resources and increased service user demands, will have a major impact on how social workers practice. The situation remains subject to further changes depending on the spread of the virus amongst service users and providers, with an expected growth in the use of volunteers and staff redeployment. New legislation and guidance will also impact on other current statutory duties for those adults with mental health problems and for those who may also lack capacity to make decisions about their own care & treatment, or for the safety of others.

During a practical Virtual Classroom, delegates will acquire a better understanding of the latest legal “easements” to duties and best practice guidance from national organisations (RCPsych, BASW, SCIE, DHSC, SWU, PHE etc) to ensure that they continue to work in  lawful manner during the CV19 crisis.
