Event description This course will offer an update on the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The Act itself was not changed by the recent Coronavirus Act, but there are implications for practice.

In this update course we will revisit the essentials of the MCA 2005 and look at the recent guidance issued by the Department of Health and Social Care, on the MCA in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic.

To refresh knowledge and understanding of Consent, Capacity Assessment, Best Interest and Advance Planning

To understand how to take into account the current DHSS guidance on the MCA during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic
