WLA Leadership - Managing Your Team - A Systemic Approach

Event description

This 5-day programme is focussed on developing the knowledge and practice skills needed by new and more established managers in children’s services. The course will help to build skills for frontline practice supervisors as practice leaders. Key areas to be covered include:

- Understanding your learning needs as a new manager;
- The challenges and opportunities facing you as a manager in contemporary children’s services
- A systemic perspective: The influence of organisational culture and context on practice;
- Understanding the relationship between leadership and management,
- The core requirements of the supervisory relationship and how supervision can be developed into a reflective space that promotes   critical decision making and analysis
- Restorative principles applied to the management task
- How to manage performance, intelligently using data and audit to deliver good outcomes;
- Providing practice leadership in your team that delivers high quality practice.

As we can only allocate 3 places per course on the WLA Programme we are unable to allow staff to make up for sessions they have missed on upcoming courses.
