Event description To develop practitioners’ knowledge, understanding and skills to support parents through group work. 
Training objectives Session 1


  • Be aware of the principles of adult education

  • Think about how they will work with group

  • Understand how to manage group dynamics

  • Understand the difference between group task and group process why it is important

  • Understand the importance of learning styles and experiential learning in group work



Session 2


  • Explore the roles people can take on in groups and strategies for dealing with them

  • Identify the role of the facilitator and the skills needed to facilitate a group

  • Relate this to the role of a facilitator in building safety in the early stages of a group

  • Identify skills used in presenting course content
